The writer chose “The Standard Operating Procedure in Handling the Guests at Gajah Mada Graha Hotel because she thought that when learning the Standard Operating Procedure, she could know how to welcome the guests at a hotel with the standard operating procedure and behave in front of the guests properly. During OJT Program the writer was assigned as a waitress at Cleopatra Café and Restaurant at Gajah Mada Graha Hotel. Waitress of Cleopatra Café and Restaurant was part of F&B Department at Gajah Mada Graha Hotel. A waitress has several main jobs, such as serving the guests, washing the dishes, sending fruit basket, handling the complaint. When the writer was in charge as waitress, she had some problems when she communicated with Chinese people because she never learned Chinese language at D-III English Program. Gajah Mada Graha Hotel often has the guests from China. She also had some difficult situation when she handled the guests, such as when the guests complaint about the food and the writer had to handle by herself. According to the writer, OJT Program is a good program for the students, they can be more discipline because they did not allow to come late to go to OJT place and responsible for themselves. In the other words, this program can be bridge for the students so if the students can show that they are good workers, the OJT place can recruit them. The writer expects that Chinese Language be offered as the second language subject for the students in the future.
