Pengaruh Nomophobia terhadap Academic Failure Mahasiswa (CD + Cetak)
Academic failure is a failure to receive lessons caused by various factors in a learning process. Failure to accept these lessons is due to a lack of concentration, especially the negative effects that are around, this negative effect is one of them when students lose concentration, it will divert their busyness to smartphones. This study aims to determine the effect of nomophobia on student academic failure by using a quantitative approach. The population in this study amounted to 6,913 active students of Merdeka University Malang with a sample of 100 students who were taken by simple random sampling technique. The data collection instrument used in this study was the nomophobia scale and the academic failure scale. The results showed that the nomophobia scale had a validity of r = 0.692 with a reliability of 0.9770 and the academic failure scale had a validity of r = 0.812 with a reliability of 0.949. The conclusion of the research results is that the research measuring instrument on the scale of nomophobia and academic failure has high validity and high reliability and the data analysis was carried out using a regression test which showed that nomophobia had an effect of 21.1% on academic failure, which means that the hypothesis in this study was accepted.
