Hubungan antara Komunikasi Interpersonal dengan Penyesuaian Diri pada Mahasiswa Rantau (CD + Cetak)
Overseas students often do not think about the risks when they are going to leave, by living far from their parents there will be many problems that will be faced, while living in a new environment, students are required to be able to adapt to their environment wherever they are. Most of the overseas students have difficulty adapting to their early years, they are more comfortable hanging out with friends from the same hometown, and hard to mingle with other students. In doing self-adjustments, interpersonal communication is one of the best factors. According to a number of studies by Stewart & Moss, 75% of all our time is used for communication so that communication is needed and important for every human being, because communication is a medium in interpersonal relationships. So in this case an understanding is needed that interpersonal communication can affect the self-adjustment of overseas students. This study aims to determine the relationship between interpersonal communication and adjustment to overseas students. The sample of this research is 261 overseas students at Merdeka University Malang. The sampling technique uses Accidental Sampling. Analysis of the data in this study using the Pearson product moment correlation coefficient technique. The research method used is item validity test of the self-adjustment scale and the interpersonal communication scale, and the reliability test using cronbach technique on each scale, and all data were processed using the SPSS 26 application. The results showed that there was a significant relationship with 0.967 and with p = 0.000, which means that there was a positive relationship between interpersonal communication and adjustment in overseas students.
