Final year students have the responsibility to complete the final project or thesis. The thesis is a scientific paper which contains the report of the results of scientific research. The aim of this research will see the relationship between social support and academic stress. This research is non-experimental quantitative. Research samples amounting to 226 students who are composing a thesis University of Malang. It uses a sample technique of random sampling, with social support measuring instruments (45 valid) and academic stress (37 valid) in the form of Likert scale. Reliability coefficient 0.941 for social support variables and 0.914 for academic stress. The results showed a correlation coefficient of-0.709 with Sig 0.000 (P < 0.05), then there is a negative relationship and the significance of social support with academic stress in students who are writing their thesis. There is a negative relationship, meaning that the higher the social support, the lower the academic stress on students who are writing their thesis, on the contrary, the lower the social support, the higher the academic stress in students who are writing their thesis.
