Pengaruh Treatment Cryogenic Terhadap Nilai Kekerasan dan Struktur Mikro Baut M 12 X 205 PT. Insastama (CD + Cetak)
Heat treatment of petrofer oil quenching harderning in the tempering process is used to increase the hardness value of S45C steel. PT Instatama conducts heat treatment of petrofer oil harderning quenching in order to produce high quality bolts. Heat treatment process on a large scale carried out at PT. Insastama, there are problems, namely the difference between the inner hardness value and the inner hardness value of the bolt, as well as the result of the hardness value that is not in accordance with the standard grade of the bolt. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of treatment on cryogenic treatment in the heat treatment process applied by PT. Insastama to the hardness value and microstructure produced on the bolt M 12 x 205. The initial process is carried out by adjusting the temperature to 870 0C with a holding time of 45 minutes. Furthermore, it is cooled rapidly using petrofer isomax oil media 277 hm for 15 minutes. Then the tempering was carried out at a temperature of 870 0C with a holding time of 45 minutes and cooled using white oil media (50% air + 50% petrol oil) for 15 minutes at room temperature. The findings of the research: (1) Bolts with heat treatment Harderning oil quenching then cryogenic treatment then tempering showed the outer and inner surface hardness values of 20 HRc and 20.8 HRc and in the type of harderning oil quenching treatment then tempering then cryogenic treatment has a hardness value of the outer and inner surface of 25 HRc and 24.7 HRc. This shows that with the addition of cryogenic treatment the hardness between the outer and inner surface of the bolt has almost the same value. (2) The element of pearlite in oil quenching harderning in cryogenic treatment from the results of observations of microstructure dominates which results in increased hardness value.
