Pengaruh Perbedaan Campuran Serat Ijuk dan Serat Sabut Kelapa Terhadap Kekuata Mekanik Komposit (CD + Cetak)
Advances in environmentally friendly technology have been developed in various industries, making research on natural resources a wise thing to reduce waste that causes damage, one of which is research on the use of natural fibers to replace synthetic fibers. Natural fibers such as coconut coir and fibers are plentiful and easy to find everywhere and their quality is not inferior to synthetic fibers. The utilization of these two fibers can be applied in composites. The purpose of
this study was to determine the effect of a mixture of variations of palm fiber and coconut fiber with volume fraction. By using resin as a binder (matrix), the impact test and tensile test are then carried out. It was found that a mixture of 10% fibers: 40% coconut fiber had the highest value, namely 2.5 kg / mm2, but had a low impact strength value of 0.04 J / mm2. And the composite fiber with a mixture of 40% fibers: 10% Coconut fiber has the highest price in the impact test, namely 0.21 J / mm2, but has a low tensile strength value of 1.22 kg / mm2. This shows that the fibers have better impact strength but not so good tensile strength, on the other hand coconut coir has better tensile strength but not so good impact strength.
