Perancangan Modifikasi Mesin Tandem Roller (2019-2020)

PT. GARAM (Persero) is a state-owned company engaged in Salt Production and is the oldest salt producer in Indonesia which is also a development agent and remains consistent in ensuring the availability of National Salt (ptgaram.com, 2018). The production area of PT. SALT is found in most areas of the island of Madura, in Gresik, East Java, as well as in several areas in Nusa Tenggara. The land treatment process before the production time will be carried out by soil compaction using a tandem roller machine, soil compaction aims to obtain soil stability so that the soil is flat and smooth so that it is ready for the salt production process. The mechanization of the existing tandem roller machines, however, still has several shortcomings, namely, the machine is too heavy so it is difficult to move one area to another. Therefore, based on the existing problems, it is necessary to make some modifications and innovations to the existing tandem roller machines to increase the efficiency of the engine.
