As a modern mass media, films not only present a "moving image", but sometimes films have a moral responsibility, open people's horizons, disseminate information and contain elements of entertainment that give rise to enthusiasm, innovation, creation, political elements, human rights, and a lifestyle that is not may as long as it displays the impressions. And the issue of honesty in the world of journalism is an issue that is rarely raised in films, especially in short films. Journalism has a complex problem in the process. Often problems arise in the process of delivering news. Whether it's newspapers, radio news, television news, and online news. Most ordinary people do not understand that in the field, the process of making news involves many aspects. Journalists do not necessarily get information from the field easily. There is a set of rules that must be obeyed. Moreover, there are many interests above journalists that must be considered in the reporting process.

This study aims to describe the representation of the value of honesty in the world of journalism in the short film Headline. This research is expected to be useful for providing knowledge and theoretical contributions to communication science. It is also hoped that it will be useful to expand knowledge and become a practical reference for Communication Science students and for readers as knowledge on how to understand the process of understanding the representation of honesty values in the short Headline film.

In this research, the writer uses descriptive qualitative research type which has several components, namely describing, taking notes, and interpreting the meanings and symbols contained in the short film Headline, which is related to press honesty in the journalistic world which is found in characters and settings and is characterized by spoken language, gestures, as well as the meaning of honesty in the world of journalism that can be found in the cinematic aspect of the short film Headline.

Based on the analysis of the findings of the selected scene, the value of honesty in the world of journalism is represented by Sapto's characters and actions in the film and is confirmed by Sapto's communication patterns with his environment. Whether it's with the character of his coworkers, or with his boss. Sapto's honest character is evident from his idealism of always speaking and acting honestly and reporting the truth as a journalist. From Sapto's actions who consciously endangered himself to publish correct information, it reflects that he is a journalist who upholds the journalistic code of ethics. From Sapto's communication pattern with his surroundings, it can be concluded that Sapto is a journalist who tries to uphold honesty even though the people around him seem to understand that reporting something that reveals the bad side of the government is the wrong step. The declaration is what makes Sapto always argue with other characters in the film.
