The Application of Sandwich Structured Composite Design on Short Stretchers to Optimize in Helping Natural Disastem Victims (CD + Cetak)
A natural disaster is an event where anyone cannot be suspected. In the world there are many kinds of natural disasters, especially in the areas geographically adjacent to the Ring of Fire area. Natural disasters such as volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, landslides, tsunamis and others are common in this area. One of the countries in the
Ring of Fire region is Indonesia. In fact, it has variety of natural disasters that occur in the region every year. In an effort to prevent natural disasters victim in Indonesia, the government established a National Disaster Management Agency called BNPB. In carrying out its duties, BNPB uses medical equipment such as airway resuscitation equipment, cardiac resuscitation equipment, electrical/pneumatic equipment, and wound and evacuation equipment. One of the most used tools at the time of evacuation is a short stretcher or a folding stretcher. The short stretcher usually used is a short aluminum-based stretcher. However, most aluminum-based stretchers do not have very good strength and durability. Based on this, the writer applies a sandwich design structure using polymer-metal on short-stretcher construction. The application of sandwich structure design on short stretchers will change the material properties of short stretcher rods to be stronger and durable. With strong and durable short stretcher, the rescue of natural disaster victims will
be safer and more comfortable.
