Forming Motifs on Building Facade with Exposed Brick (CD + Cetak)

Designing a building as an architect are never get stable, it is always developing within the times. The development of architecture design also happened on building facade. Facade that means face of the building take a role as the aesthetic element which is also being a description of the function of the space that inside it. The aesthetic aspect can come from the elements in facade, the composition, or also the material used. One of the unique materials that are trend nowadays is exposed bricks, of which is one of the oldest materials in Archipelago. Bringing back the bricks and combining it with latest design technology as the main face of the building gives a cultural image of building. Bricks’ natural color and the character of the material becomes an attraction itself and it gives a natural impression to the building. However, installing exposed bricks needs to be handled by the professional craftsman. The images of the craftsman as passive worker can be overcome if there is a good collaboration between the craftsman and the architect as the owner of the design. The collaboration is needed to improve the quality of the craftsman work.
