Perlindungan hukum pengguna jasa layanan ojek online ketika terjadi kecelakaan (CD + Cetak)
The increasingly complex movement of people makes humans need transportation facilities. Along with the development of technology comes online transportation that uses applications via smartphones. The operation of two-wheeled vehicles or called online motorcycle taxis as a means of public transportation is contrary to Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation. Debate occurred among the public, government and online motorcycle taxi companies regarding its validity as happened between passengers, the government and online motorcycle taxi drivers. The ease of online transportation makes people forget the important thing that is their protection as consumers. Liability from online transportation companies and drivers is seen as weak and detrimental to consumers. The formulation of the problem that can be taken is how the legal regulation of online transportation services by the government in Indonesia, how consumer protection for users of online transportation services, and what forms of accountability are given to users of online transportation services in the event of an accident. The aim is for the public to know the rules regarding the validity of online transportation and the protection and responsibility of consumers. This research uses empirical juridical methods and qualitative methods. In conclusion, online transportation arrangements, especially online motorcycle taxis, just follow the government's instructions and consumers must read more closely the rules that exist in online motorcycle taxi transportation because online motorcycle taxi companies only provide insurance to passengers who have an accident, not fully responsible because the company only partners with drivers . Consumer protection for users of online transportation services is good and cases are rare. But the community must still be vigilant. Crimes and accidents can happen anywhere and anytime. If you have suffered losses, consumers can ask for accountability in accordance with the terms and conditions of online transportation companies and drivers.
