This research is motivated in the development of technology and increasingly advanced times, human needs are also increasing unnoticed, the level of crime or crime in various forms and patterns has also increased. One of the crimes that occur in the community is theft, but today the crime is not only committed by someone who is considered an adult but also committed by someone who is considered a child in the eyes of the law. The study, entitled "The Role of Investigators in Diverse Efforts to Burglary Crimes with Child Actors", has the problem formulation of how the role of investigators in the diversion of theft by children (studies in Malang City Police), and what obstacles faced by investigators in the implementation diversion of the theft of a crime committed by a child.
The purpose of this study was to determine the role of investigators in carrying out their duties as law enforcers, as well as to find out and analyze the obstacles faced by investigators in carrying out their duties. This research uses empirical legal methods with a sociological approach. The source of the data used consists of primary data, interviews and secondary data, namely literature. Data will be analyzed with descriptive analysis approach.
Based on the research conducted, it was concluded that in the application of the diversion of the investigators in this case child investigators in the Malang City Police Department had been carried out in accordance with Law Number 11 of 2012 concerning the Juvenile Justice System. However, there are still obstacles faced by investigators that are influenced by internal and external factors.
