This study is entitled "Police Efforts in the Prevention of Criminal Acts of Motorcycle Theft Conducted by Children" There are two formulations of the problem in this thesis, first. and the second, what are the factors which become obstacles in the efforts of the police in the handling of the crime of theft carried out by children?
In this thesis research, the writer uses empirical research methods, namely identifying the law contained in a society with the intention of knowing other symptoms. In this study, a crime that often occurs lately and very disturbing public order and security is the crime of motorcycle theft in Malang, therefore the authors conducted a direct study at the Malang City Police Resort.
The results of investigating police efforts in overcoming the crime of motorcycle theft committed by children is by means of the Police making prevention efforts such as giving appeals or counseling about motorcycle theft crime in every middle and high school in Malang and coming to the Radio -Radio located in the city of Malang. The results of the study of inhibiting factors in the process of overcoming the crime of motorcycle theft committed by children there are 2 (two) factors that become obstacles namely internal and external factors, internal factors such as lack of facilities and infrastructure in Malang Police, and external factors such as lack of evidence and witnesses. And the people who are apathetic in helping the police.
