On the Job Training Program is a program that is held by D-III English
Program every year as one of the requirements for the 6th semester students
before graduation. By doing the On the Job Training, students can practice their
knowledge and skills before facing the real working world. During the On the
Job Training, the writer was assigned at Sunrise Holiday as a Tour Guide.
There were some activities that the writer did as a tour guide, such as gave out
the brochure to tourists, did the presentations about tourism places in East Java,
and learned about how to create tour package. In OJT place, the writer had
faced difficulty while handling in guiding, such as the writer could not
understand some guests while doing the conversation. Although, it was
difficult, the writer had tried her best to handle the guests. Being a tour guide,
the writer had visited some places in East Java, such as Kalibaru Plantation in
Banyuwangi city, Bromo Mountain, and Ijen Crater. Based on the writer’s
opinion, On the Job Training Program is really good because the students can
practice their skills and knowledge that they got at D-III English Program for
doing OJT. Besides, it is to build the students mentality and more responsible in
facing the problem on their jobs. In addition, this program is aimed to prepare
the students who will work in the future. The writer expects that D-III English
Program can give more practices besides theory for the better graduates in the
future.
