The developments of technology in telecommunication give great benefits for
mankind today, especially in Indonesia. For example, Short Message Service
(SMS). SMS is new way of communicating where person can communicate with
another in a real time. SMS provides contents such as SMS Premium. However,
the user of mobile phone lately have many complaints about the presence of SMS
Premium. Their mobile phone-credit is taken by few mischievous operators for
obtaining profits. Hence, this final report explains why the mobile phone-credit
theft happens. The explaination is focused on the process of mobile phone-credit
theft itself. The process occurs in the SMS Transmission as the basic concept.
Then, in the SMS Transmission, there are important elements: Protocol Data Unit,
Base Station Tower, Base Station Controller, Mobile Switching Center, SMS
Center (SMSC) which sequentially estabilish the process of SMS Transmission.
SMSC is the main point whether SMS is sent or not and also it occurs SMS
Premium’s process. It consists of two ways, those are Mobile Originated and
Mobile Terminated. In addition, the kind of this final report is a non-research
based article. Therefore, this final report is sourced only from books, internets,
and other references.
