English teachers in the global era are demanded not only teaching the language but are being able to be sensitive to the issues, to be ready to see the realities and manage of all these into the classroom. The realities are among others, the development of English to be a communication tool, Indonesian learners of English is firmly rooted with local and national identity and that the global spread of English is not just linguistics, educational, and
economic issues but also, cultural and political ones. Education in the 21st millennium gives
the signal that learners have the capability in the area of social aesthetic curriculum, entrepreneurial spirits, engaged thinker and ethical citizen. Points included in aesthetic curriculum are creative thinking skills, theoretical knowledge and hands on practice. ASEAN Community which will be enacted in 2015 has launched the requirements of any profession from low to high level. This means that beside the school or university certificate there is another certificate that states professional competency of the holders. Although it is late compared to other countries Indonesia government has started to have the preparation and has started to socialize to the industry and education stakeholders in the form of Indonesia Qualification Framework (IQF). The issue, reality and regulation will have the impact on the curriculum and the teaching learning process of English specifically and the ESP teachers to find out where, when, to whom to pay attention to the content. This means that how ESP is taught in the sense whether the content is compatible or obligatory will be of a great concern for ESP teachers. The concern to the development of ESP and its strategy is the tool for helping students to be academically and professionally competent.
