A person who is signified by status of women elders means that they have reached the end stage of their life. Women elders, however, still strive to obtain what so called life satisfaction and old time success. Achieving such goals require a woman elder to have high level of emotional intelligence. If an individual has high emotional intelligence, they will not feel regret about their old time. Such individuals will prepare themselves for unpleasant moment, face this moment and even change this unfavorable moment into something reasonable. Life satisfaction is also achievable until the women elders close their eye for all. Research is conducted to understand whether there is different emotional intelligence among women elders by conducting comparative study and reviewing them based on their residence, either those who are resident of old folks or those who live with their family. Emotional intelligence scale is used based on emotional intelligence aspects as proposed Goleman (2009). This scale consists of 55 items through trial stage where based on validity test, there are 53 items validated and 2 items dropped. Result of reliability test against questions in the emotional intelligence scale is alpha of 0.992 such that the reliability test has very high degree of reliability as measured by J.P. Guilford’s reliability norms. Result of analysis has shown that the average score of emotional intelligence among woman elders who live with their family is 172.4333. This average score is higher than average score of emotional intelligence of women elders who live at old folks, which counts to 108.6667. It is shown by t-count which is higher than t-table (8.153 > 2.000). It is concluded that there is different emotional intelligence among women elders based on the review of residence. Women elders who live with their family have higher emotional intelligence than those who live at old folks.
