Nowadays, fresh graduates must prepare themselves to face tight competition in globalization era. Diploma III English Program Merdeka University Malang holds On the Job Training (OJT) to answer the job needs. OJT is a program that aims to train the students to work as professionals at several places like government offices, hotels, radios, travel agents, tourism place, and schools. The Program is very important for the students because in this program they can apply their knowledge and skills in the real working environment. Additionally, it gives advantages to the students: they will have experiences before they plunge themselves to the working world. During OJT, the writer was assigned at Sang Timur Catholic Elementary School as an assistant to English and Music teacher. He decided to choose Sang Timur Catholic Elementary School because he was interested in teaching especially young children. As an assistant to English and Music teacher, he taught English language and Music art; and observed class activities. He found some problems especially in handling active pupils, explaining the subjects, and feeling nervous when he was teaching in front of the class. The writer tried to develop his skills and learned to adopt other teacher’s way in handling his difficulties in the class. OJT Program is made for students to gain their future career and train them to be responsible and professional in doing their jobs. The writer hopes that D-III English Program Merdeka University Malang can add other program like teachers training and enhance the curriculum for the next generation to be better one.
