Anxiety facing retirement is a situation that is not fun and full of anxiety caused by
the subjective interpretations of individuals who view retirement as a new problem
that makes the individual is experiencing conflict internally and externally, either
psychological or physiological disorder. While the Intelligence Adversity is the
individual response to the difficulties faced, namely the form of response that can
serve to survive (not desperate or resigned) and face difficulties to be solved by
using the human potential of the ability to confront and overcome the problems of
life in the form of difficulties or obstacles. The phenomenon of anxiety experienced
Head Elementary School in Situbondo, among others, felt no longer as the
principal means to realize that he should retire and feel the loss of prestige in
society. The impact of anxiety is irritability, complaining, worrying about the
family's financial situation and the future of children. Anxiety may be minimized or
even eliminated if the individual has a high intelligence adversity. Intelligence
adversity which consists of four aspects, namely control, origin and ownership,
reach and endurance are able to overcome the anxiety facing retirement.
This study uses a method of scale, the scale method is a method that uses a number
of written questions used to obtain information from respondents in terms of
reports about his personality. The population in this study is the head of state
primary schools in Situbondo who are facing retirement amounted to 146
respondents. The sample used in this study amounted to 40 respondents. The
sampling technique in this study using purposive sampling, the choice of subject
groups based on characteristics or specific traits that have seen the close connexion
with the characteristics or traits that have been previously known population.
Analyze data to determine whether there is the influence of intelligence on anxiety
adversity facing retirement in this study using regression analysis. From the results
of this study obtained the value R = 0.511 and F = 39,760 and sig of 0.000, = 4.10.
Those values indicate that there is the influence of intelligence on the anxieties
facing adversity significant retirement.
