The globalization era and the global change in the world make the high competition in working world. Based on this reality, DIII English Program of Merdeka University Malang arranges On the Job Training (OJT) program to link students to working world.
In the OJT implementation the writer did her OJT in Bank Jatim Malang for two months. In her OJT the writer found new experience about the real working world and everything about the banking system especially in Customer Service Division. In this report the writer is interested in the creativity of students to help Customer Service in Land and Building Tax counter. It is expected to make the students ready to face problems. In the working world, it is known that there are many complicated problems. Which needed is to be solved right away. Because of that, the students must be creative in searching solution in order to handle problems immediately. As Customer Service, persons do not only need certain skills, they must be brave to face public and be able to solve the problems. To have creativity and innovative senses are required in dealing with the customer directly. This job does not only give a new insight and vision to students but also assist to build a firm worker characteristic and to decide what appropriate career we would try.
At last the writer think that the OJT program is a good way to prepare the last semester students in facing the working world. This activity brings good thing for them. OJT is a media to enrich the student’s skills. From the activity the students are inspired to decide what kind of job they want to do in the future. OJT is a positive activity that makes the students become more creative and discipline. OJT is a kind of promotion from DIII English Program Merdeka University Malang, they want to show their students quality and readiness in facing working world.
