Analisis kemampuan proses untuk menentukan prioritas penggunaan raw material pada proses produksi aluminium foil dengan thickness exit 7 mikron di PT. Supra Aluminium industri (CD)
PT. Supra Aluminium Industri is one of those companies producing aluminium foil with thicknesses as 7, 9, 12, 15, 18, 20 and 30 microns. Of all these thicknesses, aluminium foil with a thickness of 7 microns is one of PT. Supra’s top products. Aluminium foil with a thickness of 7 microns has several types of width specifications, i.e. 600-1100 mm. Based on the observations in the field, it is found that in the production process of aluminium foil with a thickness of 7 microns, defective products are frequently found. It is predicted that the defective products result from a factor of incompatibility in using the existing raw materials.
In its production process (rolling process), PT. Supra Aluminium Industri uses 2 types of raw materials (coils). They are coils of DC (Alloy 8079 & 1235) and CC (Alloy 1235) types. Besides, the coils come from differents suppliers. They are Garmco, Suimin, Alnan, Novelis, and Indoalum.
The study is composed two analyses to set the priorities in using raw materials in the production process of aluminium foil, especially aluminium foil with a thickness exit of 7 microns. They are analysis of processing capacity and analysis of variance (ANOVA). An analysis of processing capacity is used to know which raw material have the best processing capacity, while a variance analysis is used to know the significance of raw materials’ influence on the production process of aluminium foil with a thickness exit of 7 microns and to know which raw material is the same in terms of statistics as other raw materials.
Based on the results of an analysis of processing capacity, it is found that raw material Alnan (Alloy 1235) has the best processing capacity among the other raw materials. Meanwhile, based on the results of a variance analysis, it is found that a factor of raw materials has a highly significant influence on the production process of aluminium foil with a thickness exit of 7 microns. Also, it is found that raw material Alnan (Alloy 1235) is the same in terms of statistics as raw material Novelis (Alloy 8079 & 1235) and raw material Garmco (Alloy 1235).
