Production process is a process of modifying a raw material to be a product. The modification from a raw material to be a desired product will need various steps of production process. Finished good output will be distributed to a customer. Technology, machine, tools and a number of operator, is one of supporting factor in the production process, and it need to be observed in each its implementation in order to gain the maximum production capacity.
The process of playwood production on PT. Sumalindo Lestari Jaya, Tbk. Kal-Tim Company, consists of several steps of processing as follows :
Step I : Ajusting step consists of Round Log and Trimming Log, by using Hoist engine, chain saw, steaming, Log cleaner, Log charger.
Step II : Dissection step consists of peching long grain, and peching short grain, by using rotary lathe engine, reching / unreching, drying, chipper / stacker, and composer.
Step III : Connecting step, consists of assembling / gluing, by using glue spreader engine.
Step IV : Pressing and correction step, by using cold pressing and hot pressing.
Step V : Improving and Finishing step, by using double saw, and sander.
Forecasting of the plywood demand is need to be done in determining the desired product for the next year. Then to determine the daily production capacity through the calculation of standard time, standard output from each working elemens in finishing one working cycle. From the data analysis will be found the production capacity, the number of production that will be produced, efficiency, the engine and operator effectivity, the number of engine and operator.
