The importance of effective communication between restaurant staff and overseas customer in jacks's terrace restaurant (CD)
Every organization wants to grow and develop optimally in accordance with organization plan and objectives. Besides that, organization also faces strong competition with other organization. To win the competition all organization must be managed well the organization.
Related to these matters, The Taman Dayu Club as a service company needs to be more serious to manage the organization in such a way that all components and staff can be more professional in doing their job. The Taman Dayu Club should be able to grow and develop its business in accordance with its planning to achieve its organization objectives effectively. One of the activity components carried out by The Taman Dayu Club is Restaurant Business.
Based on two month observation result, it sows that no waiter and waitress in the restaurant can give good services to the restaurants guest, namely the guests from overseas. This is a main problem encountered by the restaurant that should be overcome soon.
The problem occurs because there is no waiter and waitress who are able to communicate foreign languages especially: Japanese language, Korean language, and Chinese language. Language problem is seemingly one of the causes why communication does not work effectively between the waiter or waitress of the restaurant and the customers.
If the quick solution to the problem is not found it will have serious impact on the survival of the restaurant as follows:
