Production system is the sequence of product designing activities, in which procedures to make products coherent with the work plan will be decided. Meanwhile, manufacture system is the production activity that change material into products desired that have extra values.
The first step is to analyze the products make of clay, sand, grog, pigments, Fe2O3, engobe and glaze. The next to analyze the production process in which there are four process set up, they are the preparation of materials, the shaping step, the drying step and the last is the burning step. From the analyze here, in this thesis, we can understand the machine to select and use. To determine the number of the machines and the operators needed, we must, firstly determine the engine efficiency, the duration of time during which the machine should work, and the number of products to produce. From the duration of time the engine should work, production capacity to each machine is obtained. They all can have influences on the production facility layout and the factory layout.
Based on the result of the analyze having been done, we can understand the machine used, they are Mixer Muller, Cooking Machine, Mixer Machine, Pressing Machine, Spraying Glasir Machine, the number of each is a units, and Oven I and Oven II the number of each is a unit. The number of operator is 8 persons for three work shift divisions with the maximum production capacity of 1.185.600 units per month. The planning of production facilities layout is made based on the qualitative analysis called Activity Relationship Chart (ARC), so the flow of the production creates an S-shape (zigzag).
