"Tabob" Conservation and Marine Eco Park (CD + Cetak)
Tabob or leatherback turtle (Dermochelys coriacea) is a protected marine animal and has a vulnerable status according to the IUCN Red List Threatened Species, tabob is a marine resource that has cultural value for the indigenous group of Nu Fit, so it is caught at certain times (customary purposes not for commercial purposes) in a certain way (traditional ritual). Through a central government policy that is oriented towards the development of maritime and small islands, as well as a marine turtle conservation program by WWF Indonesia so that the waters of Kei Kecil Barat Southeast Maluku Regency become part of the Coastal Conservation Area and Small Islands (KKP3K) because it is a habitat The destination of migration for adult leatherback turtles that hunt for food is jellyfish. "Tabob" Conservation and Marine EcoPark is the idea of developing and modifying the culture of hunting and consuming leatherback turtles into conservation and ecotourism activities, by packaging the tabob culture into a tourist attraction, and planning to become a Marine Science Park area including core activities, namely conservation and protection of habitat (feeding ground) endemic animals of leatherback turtles and other types of turtles that are protected and threatened with extinction when migrating and laying eggs in the Kei Islands and KKP3K areas. The design approach is carried out by trying to transform the uniqueness of tabob culture and environmental ethics values contained therein into the design, so that the design theme is Tabob as MetaKnowledge for Environment Control.
