BUMDes are a pillar of economic activity in the village that functions as a social institution (social institution) and commercial (commercial institution) In the current era of autonomy, not only regions have regional autonomy but villages also have village autonomy where villages have full rights and authority. in managing and running their own government so that they are independent and creative in increasing the progress and welfare of the people in the village. The role of Bumdes in village economic development is very important for the village, the greater the role of BUMDes, the more welfare the community has in the village. Support from various parties is very much needed, especially support from the local community so that the bumdes activities and programs can run well

Role is a theory that talks about the position and behavior of a person that is expected from it not standing alone, but always in relation to the existence of other people who are related to the person or actor. The role actor becomes aware of the social structure he occupies, therefore an actor tries to always appear "capable" and is perceived by other actors as "not deviating" from the system of expectations that exist in society. And development is an effort or a way to advance and develop something that already exists. Economic development in a village or area will always be calculated with the benefits and benefits for the people in the village or region. Village economic development must be in accordance with careful planning so that it benefits the community, both from an economic, social and cultural perspective. The economic development of a village includes a large part of physical resources or natural resources. Environmental, social and cultural aspects are also important in the development of the village economy.

This type of research is a research using a qualitative approach with descriptive methods located in the village of Pujon Kidul, Malang Regency. The types of data taken here are primary data and secondary data through the process of interviews, observation, and documentation, through this data collection method the researcher tries to find real data in accordance with the research focus.

Based on the results of the research, the role of Bumdes in the economic development of the village has also helped villages and communities to increase their income through units and create jobs for the community.
